machine or buy new heads?

I have a 91 350 tpi with headman shorties, off-roadpipe, and magnaflow exhaust. I was going to port my top end but when it comes to the heads I'm trying to decide if it would be better to get them machined or just buy aftermarket? I'm not trying to make a track car, just a fun street driver. Any tips?

Are you going to port the heads yourself, or have them done?

It wouldn't be worth the money then. Porting a head takes a lot of time, and that gets expensive in a hurry.
