need help maf/esc failure

need help, have had a re-occuring 33-maf code with very little or no running problems. now pulling out of storage, engine sputters badly will not accerlerate, and store code: 33-maf 32-egr 43-esc 42-est. could anyone give me a few pointers please. i do have some experience in tpi diagnostics, but i am in a crunch now because our grand rapids metro cruise is coming up in a few days.

While it's sputtering disconnect the 4-pin MAF connector. If it clears up....replace the MAF.

Some problems have the snowball effect. I'm not saying that's happening in your case but you did mention that you've had the MAF code on a regular basis. That's your intake. All kinds of things can get messed up if your intake charge is hosed.

Tuned-Z Where are you located? I live in the ada/cascade area.
And for your 3 codes-could be a number of things
Dirty maf, maf is bad, possibe maf relay, Egr is stuck open-will run like crap if its stuck open, and your esc could be bad. I just picked up a new esc module for my car at napa for $60 the other day.

Re: need help maf/esc failure

i re-installed the original maf (factory original) seems to run fine now and accelerates good. previously i have been having re-occuring maf problem, had made all kinds of tests per manuals. then started throwing parts at it: ecm w/updated prom, all-3 relays and pigtails, new maf sensor (re-man from gm dealer). strange thing is that it allways ran good when code was stored, they usually run very bad with code 33. i hope the esc codes were just set in error becuse the timing could not advance when i accelerated, but only time will tell.

I will be at Berger Chevy. I am the only 86 Blue Iroc-Z with shaved door handles in the Camaro Club.
