Sending unit in new C/H does not fit
I am installing a new 350 with a set of new Patriot Freedom C/H's on top to go in my '85 TPI Iroc.
I am trying to keep things fairly simple, and I just ran into a little snag.
The stock 305 I am replacing has a sending unit on the driver side head above the spark plugs.
I am guessing a temperature sending unit?
Their is an identical hole on the passenger head but it is capped.
The new heads have the holes but are apparently threaded different than the stock heads.
The OE sending unit will not screw in.
It will finger start about one threads worth, but I don't want to force it or put a wrench to it.
I took a measurement with a set of calipers and it looks like the O.D. threads to the sending unit measures around 17 mm.
The hole in the new heads measure 9/16.
Is their a different sending unit I can use to replace the OE unit that will work?
Or is their a alternate route to take?
Thanks, Tim
