Few easy questions for tpi 350

Hey i have a question about my motor that i couldnt find answers to doing a search.

I want to get an throttlebody air foil and i have seen some that come with a gasket for under the tuneport plate. does this need to be replaced or do most come with them.?

I want to add an air intake onto my car, simular to the ones offered on ebay. will that help make my exhaust lounder. I have the 3inch Flowmaster setup with the 80 series muffler.

I see alot that the L98 is compaired to the LT1 motor. are these the same/simular.?

Last of all, what cars came with the digital gauge setup.

thanks

PS can someone please expalin where the term Snake Oil came from or is about.

I don't believe you have to change the t/b gasket,an airfoil and CAI is a good upgrade but I don't believe it will make your exh. louder(im assuming thats what u meant by lounder?)
lt1's are quite a bit diff. than l98's

and on digital gauges, some of the 87-88 gtas/tas had them and some mid 80's berlinettas also not 100 percent sure on years&numbers

Snake oil is from the pre FDA drug days when anybody could sell anything as a medicine. It is a slang term for "all hype and no value".

Think about a "Hawker" standing on a street corner telling you how great something is and it turns out to be just sugar water, for $10 to $100 a bottle (the $100 stuff is better because it cost more ).

PT Barnum said " There is a sucker born every minute."

Some airfoils require that the IAC plate be removed in order to install the airfoil. That's what the gasket is for.

Also, my 88 TA has the digital dash.

both the lt1 and l98 are fuel injected, 5.7lt, V8s, but that is just about as simmilar as they get. the l98 was rated at 240hp/ 340lb/ft torque. the lt1 305 hp/ 325lb/ft torque.
