I just figured out I had my MAF relay and Burn off relay plugs switched. Finally my car is running right. I can floor it and it won't screw up and run really rough. Sounds great now.

New problem however. Now my SES light is on. I've pulled the codes by jumping the aldl terminal and all I get is 12. Which shouldn't put the light on. I unhooked the battery for a while and I'm still getting the light. I left the car run for 5 minutes and it never went out.

Funny thing is when I had the plugs backwords, it wouldn't kick a light but It would read another code (33) when jumping the aldl terminal which led me to finding out that I had the plugs backwords. GM really shouldn't have used similar connectors for the two different relays..

BTW: my car is an 85 carb camaro. I have swaped in an 86 TPI engine and harness. And I'm pretty sure that I've got everything wired up right. Though with the SES light on now I'm wondering.

Any ideas??!?!

When you first turn the key on, before you start it, does the SES light blink once? If not, you have a bad PROM or bad computer. Sometimes taking the computer out from behind the passenger side dash and unplugging it will fix it, if there's a loose wire or something like that.

 

I'm pretty sure it dose flash when I turn the key on. I'll check again when I get home to be sure.

Anyone else have any ideas?
