MAT sensor is 'where'?? (scratches head)..

I did search after search and still can't figure out where the MAT is actually located. Somewhere in the back and 'underneath' the TPI intake??? or? Can't find it here nor in the manual.... Feeling kinda dense. Nitro

Speed density? lol

Anyway, its under the plenum near the back. Its somewhere behind the EGR but before you get to the distributor. Faces downward, and I'm not sure it can be removed without taking the plenum off, never tried that.

Okay, I know which one it is now. I've siamesed and match ported my TPI but had no idea what that one sensor was and have since forgotten about it. Anyone know how to describe what would be the effects if it was disconnected or even faulty?
Thanks for the info. It just amazes me that a chilton's and Haynes manual won't even mention the MAT & it's sister CTS.....

Nitro-Nicky now not so dense-

Its one of the things the computer checks, so you'll get an SES light if its disconnected or faulty. If its reading 20 degrees too high or too low you probably wont notice it. The computer will adjust the fuel based off its reading.
