Cylinder Head Porting Shops
Does anyone know of a well established and reputable automotive machine shop that has expertise in cylinder head porting. I am considering purchasing better cylinder heads and would consider shipping them to such a shop for porting then having them shipped to me. I did a search on the internet and found a few shops in North America, but really I do not know their work. Thanks.

Hey BC, from what I understand your better off just buying a good aluminum head from one of the several manufacturers. By the time you get a stock type head ported and rebuilt the price will be comparable to a good set of aftermarket heads which will blow them away. Check out the AFR eliminators, they are reaching legendary if not almost mythical status here in the states. I'm kinda tied up financially right now so I'm learning to port my own heads and intake. The intake on our cars (if yours is TPI) will limit the heads flow at some point. This is where home porting shines! (Or Extrudehone which is about 20 mins away from my house!) Not an expert just my opinion from researching this. Oh and to answer your question I don't know any shops that port heads except for Extrudehone which are very good but exspensive. Ciao.
