92 5.7 TPI RUNS ROUGH FROM 1000-1900 RPM

Hey guys I was hoping someone else out there has a similar problem or maybe even a solution.---I have a 1992 5.7 Trans Am.has about 140,000 miles.-- what started out as a basic tune up has turned into a total cluster u know what!--long story longer- replaced my distributor with a new reman from o'reilly's,has new cap, rotor, module, wires, plugs. set the timing at 6btc and again at 8 btc.-and yes disconnected the black and tan wire- to set base timing-the car cranks right up idles about 750 RPM sounds real good and smooth.--my problem--at tip in throttle starting at 1000 rpm up until 1800 rpm the car starts running like crap {busting up /missing}.get above that it smooths out. --I take it out to drive ,same thing --with a load on it the engine at the same rpms starts missing ,.get above it and the car runs like a scalded cat!.--the reason I replaced my old distributor was after I pried the old rotor button off and put the new one on it would not start I must have damaged it somehow.--I put the new distributor in just like the old one that came out and it cranked right up!--The car has not done this before!---any ideas or thoughts would be helpfull.--
