TPS question

My idle is ruff and too high around 1050 - 1200 I think I need to reset the IAC. If i move the trigger lever on the TPS the engine wants to die. I thought the engine rev up? Am i correct?

Can't rev unless it gets more air from the TB opening. Just moving the tps will make the computer think the throttle is actually opening and it's probably trying to add fuel causing it to kill. What year car do you have? The 90-92 TPS sensors are selfadjusting.
