Intake Manifold

Quick question, are all the intakes for TPI engines the same? I mean 305, 350's, and Corvette intakes?

Re: Intake Manifold

The 85-86 f-body intakes are the same, as the engines are all 305's. The 87-92 f-body intakes are all the same for both 305's and 350's. The difference is in the intake bolt angle on the newer years.

The Corvette TPI intakes all have the 86 and older bolt pattern, plus they have the hookup on the back passenger side for the EGR supply.

Re: Intake Manifold

So I would be able to use a 87 tpi intake on a 89 corvette tpi engine?

Re: Intake Manifold

With the '89 Corvette heads? No, because the center four intake bolt holes will not line up. (you could grind them to fit) but the f-body intake does not have the EGR port and you wont pass CA's emissions without it.

This is what you need to do for Corvette heads and EGR:

See my post in that thread with the pictures.

Re: Intake Manifold

Hook up the exhaust tube going from the exhaust manifolds/headers to the port on the back of the intake manifold, as shown in the pics.
