New purchase: 1987 Trans AM GTA
I guess this is as good a place as any for an introduction. In my experience with cars, i've always had a forum i could come to for reference and it helps seeing familiar people on them to get help from. I'm 18, i come from working on porsche's. I moved to Houston 6 months ago, and last month some ******* totaled my Mint Porsche 944 n/a. I scraped together 2500 bucks and bought this. The last American car i owned was a 80' K5 Blazer
I bought this trans am last week here in houston TX, the guy wanted 3000 bucks, i beat him down to 2500 and drove off with her. He told me it was a 305 but the guy before him swapped it to a 350 but he couldnt confirm that it was actually a 350. I Cant see the block numbers to verify either.
Shes, rough around the edges, but shes a very straight original car, shes just been neglected.
So far, this weekend i did a full service, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, all filters, pads, shoes, oil change, pcv valve, radiator flush, differential service done by trusty quickcar near my house since i dont have a garage. I also sprayed a **** load of white lithium grease over every single latch, swivel, handle, catch, and whatever else i could find. getting her daily driveable for my 70 miles each day commute.
Heres some pictures as she sits now, i spent 2 days cleaning her and shes still filthy.

first way to verify if its a 305 or 350 is the VIN. if the 8th digit is an F its a 305 TPI, if its a 8 its a 350 TPI, of course theres the hood sticker as well. other than that no way to tell unless you get the block #. nice find none the less. take care of her and bring here back to life. will be one of the best cars you can own, IMO.

i was thinking the same thing, but the 350 is pretty much a direct replacement for the 305 providing they are both the same induction which they were.....just a piece of advice, that car with the t-tops wasn't factory designed for a 350....they didn't design one until 88 or 89 so you may want to invest is some subframe connectors......however nice find

By, "NOS" interior pieces do you mean New Old Stock (N.O.S.), as in, OEM like it should be, or Nitrous Oxide Systems (NoS) cheap-o walmart crappy seat, seatbelt, and steering wheel covers... because that would be

No dude, talking about new old stock, gm parts, whatever i can find,
however, i might get one of those really sweet racing wings for the back from autozone, i think i can bolt it onto the factory rear spoiler and get some really good hp gains
