CAR STARTS BUT WON"T RUN
Hi, my 1988 350 TPI will start but stall right away. Before I had this problem I put in a new distributor, and the car was running way too rich. The car will start, and stall right away. If I hold my foot on the gas it will idle/rev rough, but stall when I let off the gas. I unplugged my MAF sensor and the car still stalls out. Any Ideas?
Also my timing is set to 6 degrees, and I car was running fine the first day after the new distributor was put in. Before I put in my distributor and the day I put it in. The car was running rich.

It's likely losing spark or fuel. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Still have the old distributor?
Re: CAR STARTS BUT WON"T RUN
i'd check fuel/air ratios.
i had a similar issue, and what i did was adjust the throttle screw (just to give you an idea, im not telling you to do this) so the throttle body was opened up more when i went to start and allowed me to start the car without pushing the pedal. you might pull a vac line to check a rich condition.
you could also spray some gas down the intake to check if it's lean... but i'm leaning more towards a rich since you said you had that issue.
hows your spark plugs look?

Re: CAR STARTS BUT WON"T RUN
Old distributor I gave in for core. Spark plugs are new. There seems to be fuel pressure. I hear the fuel pump, and when the car stalls, I check the valve at the fuel rail, and there's lots of gas squirting out when I press down. Maybe bad injectors? They are fairly new. How would I test them? Also because the car was running rich, there's carbon build up in the intake plenum, and throttle body. (after blades)

major vacuum leak, check all your vacuum lines especially the 3/8 lines on the pcv valve and the brake booster. Maybe you knocked something loose while you worked on the distributor.

Re: CAR STARTS BUT WON"T RUN
I just checked a couple of my spark plugs, and they are wet! Covered in fuel! So I could have stuck open injectors. When the car was running last it, was running super rich. Is there any other way to check the injectors, or do the wet spark plugs say it all?
