Which engine should I build for my 85 T/A?

Which engine should I build for my 85 T/A?
I have a 85 T/A with a 305 TPI, runs good but has over 100k and blows smoke on start up (Don't they all!!! LOL)
This car is my daily driver, I don't need anything crazy but I want to build a new motor for it with minimal hassle.
I have a 2000 305 motor and a 87 350, both roller blocks. If I build the 350 what modifications do I need to do to get it run properly with my ECU?
This motor will be basically stock except for maybe a LT1 stock cam and a little porting to the heads. I want to keep my comp ratio around 9.5
Any recommendations?
