87 305 tpi codes 33 and 36

Hey guys, I have an 87 305 tpi thats been giving me some trouble. Currently I'm getting codes 33 (MAF frequency to high) and 36 (burnoff failure). If I clear the codes, code 33 will set within a few seconds after being started and 36 after being driven. I've tryed switching the relays around which did nothing. I tried all three relays and a spare on the fuel pump and they all worked, so I would assume there good. I replaced the MAF sensor with a reman bosch, made no difference. Today I switched out the computer with one from the junkyard, still codes 33 and 36. However I did notice that with the old computer I had to press the gas to get it to start, and with the junkyard one it will fire right up. I've also tryed to reset the base idle and adjust the tps multiple times, which didn't help. I checked the wires for continuity to rule out any broken wires also. Any Ideas? I'm ready to pull my hair out!

Your maf sensor power and burn-off relays are probably bad.
they're on the firewall near the brake booster.

I also had intermittent codes 33 and 36, and replacing the MAF relays fixed it. See this thread for relay part numbers and location:

Do a search on the 33 error code. I have posted several things on this matter over the years.

For the code 33, use a paperclip to jump the 5V reference wire to the sensor signal output wire. If the same code sets, it's the wiring. If it sets the opposite code (34 i believe, for it being low), then you have a bad sensor.
