87 350 TPI flooding and runs terrible

I just picked up an 87 IROC 350/tops yesterday and am trying to get it running. The engine is horribly flooded. I pulled the plugs today, and all but number 1 cylinder are soaking wet with gas. I pulled the plug for the fuel pump, and managed to get it somewhat unflooded, at least to the point where it will turn over and start, but it runs very rough and diesels when shut off. A friend thinks the injectors are all bad. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

Are you talking about the vacuum line with the 90 degree elbow that runs to the top of the regulator? Pulled it off, fuel came dripping out. Then again, the intake smells like fuel too, and I think this line runs up to the plenum. Think that's it? I ohms checked a couple of the injectors (didn't have time to do all 8) and they are about 15.8 ohm/ea.

it is your fuel pressure regulator, mine went bad on thursday same senario . that is the only way fuel can get into the plastic line and upper plenum.

.... your User ID sounds familiar, think I bought some items off of you from ebay YEARS ago! By the way I agree, sounds like a leaky diaphragm.

Not me, the ebay tommygun is a different guy altogether. I bought stuff off him too, he had a lot at his house! I will try the new regulator and post results so at least there's a record of the problem here. BTW, with the cylinders getting washed with fuel so much, is there anything I should be doing during the troubleshooting phase to prevent cylinder damage? Other than just changing the oil?
