Need Help - Problems w/ Aftermarket TPI Base
Need Help - Problems w/ Aftermarket TPI Base
Two Problems I've come across and trying to match my hardware to it.
First off, the red arrow points to a hole next to the egr block off. What goes here? I did not have this on the stock manifold. Just plug it?
Second, there's a bracket that goes between the two blue points through the manifold bolts. The aftermarket manifold has a raised bump in between which doesn't allow the bracket to set flat. Best to buy extended bolts to bolt on top of then? I'd hate to deal with cutting or dremeling... Appreciate any advice!

Red Arrow- Pretty sure that goes into the coolant port. Definitely plug that and forget it. Might be best to use a recessed allen head plug in that spot.
Bracket- No clue. Any way you can grind the bracket base to clear it?

Like the others said, you can just use a plug in that small hole.
For the coil/EGR solenoid bracket, you can use washers to stand off the bracket. When I installed my Edelbrock years ago, I went and cut the center portion of the bracket out. Looked much cleaner.
I might have even used a hardened flat washer at each bolt under the bracket too. It was a long time ago........

I just installed one of these last week, i cut the middle out of my bracket and it sits right where it's supposed to now. As for the hole i just thought it was an empty bolt hole(didnt look at it too closely), I guess i will plug it too

I use the coolant port as a high point air bleed using a radiator drain valve.
I didn't have a bracket, previous owner must have removed it (EGR Solenoid bracket?)

Explains the coil's short harness; I couldn't use it anyway with the extenal EGR tube, and tall alum valve cover taking up that space.

Hey everyone, thanks for your input.
Fortunately I didn't have to cut or grind a thing. A member on another site said using slightly longer bolts and some washers helped him clear the manifold bump. Worked great and actually the bracket bent enough to mold to the bump, so it's a nice tight fit.
and my left over hardware filled the steam hole and tightened the distributor hold-down.

Re: Need Help - Problems w/ Aftermarket TPI Base
Anybody know the size of the hole that needs to be plugged (red arrow). I'm installing the Eddy Hi-Flo manifold also.
There's also a third hole in the front that wasn't on the OEM manifold, what should be done there....plug?
And if so what size??
Thanks,

They are the same as the cold start switch and Coolant Temp Sensor, 3/8" npt I believe.
