350 TPI Economical MODs for HP
350 TPI Economical MODs for HP
I have a 1991 RS with a 305. I have recently bought a 350TPI out of a 90 GTA with torqe converter,700R Transmission, all accessories, wiring harnes and computer. From what I understand which is only very basic that is why Im posting is that the 305 has about 170 HP stock and the 350 TPI has about 240 HP stock. I recently received a quote to make upgrades to the motor and exhaust that would cost about $6000.00. It would give me about 370 HP and 420 torqe. Any suggestion on modification that can be made more economically?
Upgrades quoted:Cam,Dart Cylinder Heads,Lower Intake manifold, Intake runners (larger), Adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Throttle Body 52MM, Level 5 Prom,Edelbrock ceramic headers, Cat Back exhaust system, Torqe convertor w/RPM stall 2200-2400

Yeesh that's expensive. In this economy, I'd look for some used mods, and then install them yourself. You have the motor out of the car, it will make it much easier and far less dirty if you DIY.
But $6k seems kinda steep. You can turbo your TBi for less than $6k and make more hp too.
