not getting fuel

I just got my 87 trans am gta with a 5.0 about a week ago now. when i bought the car it didnt run the guy told me that he parked it about a month ago and it ran fine then. So i thought it would be the fuel pump because i couldn't hear it priming when i turned the switch. So i replaced it and the fuel sending unit. Once I got the old fuel pump out I tested it and it was good. What would keep the pump from running? I thought maybe a relay but I dont know where they are and i dont know how I would test it if I did know where it was!

check the ecm fuse by the battery and see if you are getting spark could be the spark control module

Re: not getting fuel

find the power wire for the fuel pump behind the rear seat under the carpet and see if its getting power.

Re: not getting fuel

the only way it getspower is if i send power to it though the bottom left pin in the obd plug and its getting plenty of pressure to the fuel rail when i do that its just the injectors arnt getting signal to release fuel into in cylinder

Re: not getting fuel

on the positive battery cable, there is a red wire follow it untill you find a fuseholder with a 20 amp fuse in it, replace that fuse and you should be good to go.
this fuse controls the ecm and fuel pump. No idiot lights on is the tip off.

Re: not getting fuel

Hold a finger on a fuel injector while a buddy cranks the motor, you should be able to feel the injector clicking. If not, replace your ignition module as it also controls the fuel injector pulse.
