So I bought my 1985 iroc camaro about a month ago and the person who sold it to me didn't know it had a dead cell...it was for sale for 3500, i talked her down to 1k(obviously she knew what was wrong with it). Since then i've pulled the engine, had the heads reworked, had the engine bored 40 over, added flat top pistons, ported the plenum, added hooker headers, and put it back together. Monday i got the engine back in the car. I can only work on it mondays due to time constraints, but next monday i should finish plugging up the electronics and get it started...mmmm...in theory. After i get it running i'm going to add a quick silver ratchet shifter, 3.73 gears....and enjoy it!!!! I'm also doing my own body work and painting it. I got temperature changing paint from black to clear from paints with pearls and will be painting it silver w/black stripes. Doing some custom interior work, etc.

I know everyone likes reading about projects...and this is my first project involving engine building. Its great!

Any tid-bits you guys can give me on minor power adders would be great! I've been reading up and have already bypassed the throttle body cooling lines, cut out the boxes for the air breather(....debating on making my own CAI setup) and ported the plenum.

5.7 The guy that i got it from swapped it out and did a crappy job with the rebuild, cracked the lip of a piston when putting it in, frying a cylinder....i had to hone the crap out of it and get the heads reworked....but i think the end result will be nice....

plus 0 miles is a great starting point.
