Fixed broken valve spring, now no power??

Alright folks,

Last time i posted on here my car had just broken an intake valve spring on cylinder #2.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...pring-why.html

The final diagnosis from the shop was that the spring had broke, and that the stud in the head had lifted out.. He said there was something with the pushrod but i cant remember.. They did a test where they put air into the cylinder and the cylinder held the air in, valve still good i guess??

Anyways.. Tonight was the first night that I have been able to drive it since it was fixed, and I now notice that there is a severe lack of power compared to what it had right before I broke the spring.

The motor is acting like it's sick and has a really bad miss, I can FEEL the motor shuddering when I give it throttle, and the car is acting like it wants to bog down while in reverse. The car isn't as loud and mean sounding as before, the car doesn't rev up as fast anymore, and there sure as hell isn't as much pep like there once was..

This is exactly how the car acted right before I pulled the valve cover and noticed the broken spring.

I put in BRAND NEW spark plugs not 200 miles ago and i'm at a total loss as to why my motor is acting like crap.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm could be alot of things. Did the shop rebuild the head with the bad stud? Did the shop tighten the rocker arms the right way? Did the shop replace the lifter and push rod on cylinder #2? Is the engine in the right timing meaning are the spark plug wires in the right place? I would start with the easy things before I start tearing into the motor to find out.
