Re: intake manifold torque specs?

I agree, 35 ft-lbf. I torque my intake in two stages, first 20 then 35 ft-lbf.

Re: intake manifold torque specs?

AND, work from the two center bolts on each side to the front and rear bolts. In other words, get the sequence correct. Another AND, get a smear of silicone sealant on both sides of the gasket and a good tab at the corners where the heads meet the block & intake.

Re: intake manifold torque specs?

i just noticed i had 8 short bolts and 4 long ones for my manifold and i didnt label or remember where they went lol

so i would assume the shorter ones go on the outside of the coolant passages...is that right??and will it make much of a difference if i did it a different way?

Re: intake manifold torque specs?

The smear of silicone that I am talking about goes where the coolant crossover is on the intake manifold. Remember just a smear. I am not familar with your intake; the location of the longer bolts should be fairly obvious. Do you have a remote coil to mount or some other device?

The silicone sealant should say "safe for O2 sensors" or something similar.

I do put silicone sealant of the bolt threads also. All of them.
