hey guys im plannin on gettin a full rebuild on my motor pretty soon I have a 1986 trans am 305 tpi I got a brand new sum-1102 cam .420/.442 204/214 i have 1.6 roller tipped rockers 2055 hooker headers 21/2 in pipe out to a magnaflow my plenum and stock runners are ported but not the lower base nor the bottom of the runners but i have an edlebrock base and runners that i plan on putting in when the motor is rebuilt have accel 19lbs runners bbk fuel pump and afpr and jus pulled a BW axle off a 1987 iroc with only 50,000 on it and is a 3.27... Im not looking for a radical build i wanna keep the stock heads but have them worked on screw in studs shave them down new valves and springs but i dont wanna bore jus make the bottom stronger and have good power for a daily driver jus lookin for a start so when i go in i can have some options thanks guys.

Re: 305 rebuild

your new cam is very tame
save yourself time on the 305 heads try to find vette heads
TPI is great for low end ( perfect for a truck )
I would upgrade to HSR TPIS or swap to a LT1 intake
your bottom end is just fine for your power range just add new bearings
