1987 iroc 305 tpi running and starting problems
Ok first had a no start problem and then got a new ignition controle module and coil connectors because they were only hanging on by a thread(one wire). It finally started but runs like complete crap and when revved up backfires through exhaust, so we replaced all the plugs and wires. one of the plugs was TERRIBLE so its running a little better but still like junk. If you rev it up it feels and sounds like its got a NASTY miss fire but cant tell as bad at idle. went back to try to see if i could fix it and the car wouldnt start no spark coming from coil. I take apart the distributor and put it back together and it seems to have spark agian. Maybe moisture getting in there or something. Not sure if the pickup coil is good but could that be the problem, or maybe even the ignition coil? hoping to fix both problems at once.
Also seemed like timing was off. Marked the line with white out and with it running and that EST plug disconnected the mark is all the way at TDC and my marker is more on an angle so its maybe way to advance. so idk any help would be much appreciated.

start with timing and go from there.....could be water in the distributor or a bad pickup.....but i would get the timing right first
