Engine Wiring Harness Differences (?)
I'm currently trying to find an Engine Wiring Harness For a 91-92 5.0L TPI 5-speed manual (Speed Density of course) and I was wondering what the difference is between a harness from a 5.0L TPI AUTO and a 5.0L Manual is? Can a harness from an Auto work with a Manual car? or modified to work? GM part #'s are different between the two so there must be difference...
thanks in advance

Re: Engine Wiring Harness Differences (?)
The auto harness will have a plug for the torque converter lockup, the manual one will not. Also, I think the manual harness has an extra plug or two for the reverse gear switch, and fifth gear switch. I'm sure the harness could be modified to work though.
Re: Engine Wiring Harness Differences (?)
I've got both out in the garage on the shelf. The only notable difference between the auto and 5spd harness is the transmission plugs. The 700R4 harness has the 4 pin plug, and the T5 harness only has a 2pin for the reverse lights. Otherwise the two harnesses are identical.

thanks for the replies, thats the difference i came up with as well this weekend with some non-TGO research. So at least we know now that an auto harness can be used when swapping to tune-port with a manual tranny.
