1985 burn off modulator
ok, i think i have a new problem.
i was charging my battery today and i went to start it up and i heard a buzzing as the engine was turning over.(not the starter) the car never started up
so i pulled down the ecm and tried it again, the burn off modulator(i heard it also called maf controller/ relay) was buzzing when i was trying to start. I unplugged it and the buzzing went away.
as i turned the key it seemed that what ever charge the battery had seemed to vanish.
the car is an 85 z28 with tpi.
i pulled a code of 12, which was distributor reference pulse not detected or some thing along those lines. do they have anything to do with each other?

Code 12 is normal, and will always be present. It comes from when you have the key in the on position without the engine running - there are no distributor pulses because the distributor is not turning.
As far as the buzzing sound, I'm guessing it was a relay inside the MAF burnoff module. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking though - are you saying that the engine turns over but does not fire up?

the car will fire up, i just never heard this sound before while charging a battery. its just that i would turn the key to start it up but i would get this buzzing sound, then what ever charge was in the battery seems do vanish.
fired the car up today and no buzzing.
