I just finished putting a 92 305 TPI engine in my 83TA. I used the original computer that came with it and a Fuel Injection Connection TPI harness (it is a speed density harness). My problem is that the check engine light flickers once as I turn the key to run (doesn't actually come on like it should), then stays on when the engine is running, but only lets me pull a code 12. With the computer unplugged and the key in run, the light stays on all the time but I can turn it off by grounding that terminal on the plug (as it should). My fans are also not turning on, but again with the computer unplugged and key in run, I can ground that terminal and they turn on. All of the ground terminals on the plugs have continuity to ground. The check engine light wire and the fan relay wire are both on the same plug and apparently the computer is not grounding them when the engine is running like it should. Anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate any help from you guys with more experience than me. I am really stumped here!
