Check your EGR valve for sticking, or being siezed, and check out your IAC valve, for being dirty/inoperative!!

Before you go replacing parts, try adjusting the IAC for min. air, as well as setting the TPS sensor to a proper reference voltage. While you are at it, check the timing. If it starts but needs more open "throttle," (not gas), then it could be something as simple as an adjustment to one of these sensors. There are detailed tech articles on this subject located on the TGO homepage.

Opening the throttle means " giving it gas." although on newer cars you are not actually giving it more gas, you are increasing the amount of air passing into the engine by OPENING the throttle blades. Check timing, check TPS adjustment, and reset the IAC.

My car is having the same issue, except I have to hold in the gas pedal to start it, and once it starts if I let go off the pedal it just stumbles and dies.
