Good 90-92 TPI Harness to use?

Hey guys, I'm getting all the parts together to swap to TPI, I'm picking up a 1991 intake, plenum, and runners, aswell as all the sensors tonight for $150, I was looking on eBay and came across a 'Tech-rods' kit, http://cgi.ebay.ca/1990-92-TPI-Fuel-...item2c5408b759
Are these any good? I've heard good, and bad things about painless wiring kits...

That harness doesnt have any of the emissions equipment connections on it. I think the painless harness I used at least had a lead to hook that stuff up, but none of the connectors.

Re: Good 90-92 TPI Harness to use?

I guess for the price and with whats out there, its decent enough. For a time, they were apparently not using color coded wires, they were all black with labels. Bad idea. I guess they went back to the colored. I dont like how/where they want the relays (near the ecm) and they didnt include the connector for the IP (instrument panel) harness, among a few others like the EGR solenoid, AIR solenoids, CCP valve. This may have changed since I bought mine, but who knows. Minor complaints. There are people that sell a true plug+play but generally speaking those are quite pricey.

Any good names? If I have to pay extra for a little bit easier of a time, It's worth it.. I work as an apprentice industrial electrician, But I don't want to not have a car for a week because I'm tracing out wires, and running new ones...

I've been looking around, and looking at our other car (88 IROC with TPI), and I don't see much of a difference in the wiring harness, What would have to be changed in order to use the TBI harness?

there is a stickey on the front page about repinning the tbi harness to tpi, it doesn't look all that difficult you'll just need to gather up all the proper plugs.

Re: Good 90-92 TPI Harness to use?

I read that whole thread, but some things seem vague to me, With my 1991 TBI harness, what do I actually have to change for the ECM plugs if I'm using a 7730 ECM?

Re: Good 90-92 TPI Harness to use?

Bringing up an old topic, because I didn't want to make another..

Anyway, It's getting to the point where my old 305 is dying out, I'm at a quart of oil every two weeks..

Is this a decent harness?

Re: Good 90-92 TPI Harness to use?

Thats not a direct replacement harness, I'm not saying it wont work, but you would have to strip out parts of the stock harness that are not included, like the firewall connector.
your best bet would be to find a stock tpi harness from the same year donor car

That harness is good for retrofitting an l98 into a 57 chevy
