supercharged L-98 Gen6 DFI problems

I'll start by saying exactly what i know i have. i bought the car a few months ago. 1988 iroc conv. with an '88 vette L98, mild internal work, accel gen6 DFI, 30 LB. injectors, and one of the original paxton supercharger kits. i also noticed that there is no 02 sensor (someone told me they do that when its tuned for race only). so heres the story i bought the car thats been sitting for a while and the intake manifold was corroded by the thermostat housing from sitting for too long so i had to replace the intake. at the same time i decided to do some sleeper work. i had a spare manifold ported out and i put a 54mm stock ported throttle body. everything seemed to go fine but now i cant get the timing done because the dam car wont stay running unless im on the gas. also when its warmed up it will stay running but only if i set the idle at 1500 RPM!! it runs crappy now and rich too i press on the gas its hesitant with clouds of unburned fuel. i dont know where to start with this problem any ideas or suggestions?

First Id say reset tha IAC and adjust the TPS sensor.Thats should solve your issue of getting it to run on its own and adjust the timing. Also lower the fuel pressure if you have an adjustable regulator so you get better atomization and not run soo rich..but dont go crazy making adjustments..being supercharged will require a fair amount of fuel.get a pressure gauge and see what its reading and that will tell us more about what the car is doing.

Re: supercharged L-98 Gen6 DFI problems

actually funny that you mentioned that the car came with no oxygen sensor i talked to the man that tuned the car and he says that it is tuned for race only. this is an "open loop" system and does not use an 02 sensor like "closed loop" system would. this helps peak horsepower but gives it less street manners (which i don't mind) but also kills my fuel economy but its a weekend car anyway. although when i get it tuned next time i will get an oxygen sensor put in and run it closed loop again.
