Were 89 Irocs 50 state emission legal? Just moved to CA and need to register
Hey guys, I just moved from IL to CA and got crap scared out of me with all the crazy Californiaa emission talk.
I was wondering if 89 Irocs were 50 state compliant and if not did any one attemppt to register an out of state Iroc in Cali?
I went to DMV today and they were absolutely no help.
Will I need to install any special equipment?
Any info on this will be very helpful.
Thanks in advance
Car info:
89 Iroc 350, single exhaust
original owner purchased new in Michigan
car is all stock except for fuel pressure setting (AFPR installed and pressure increased to 50 psi).

Where in California are you? NorCal or SoCal? Post your message in either forum and we'll be able to help you, as well as welcome you to the club.
Yes as far as I know, all thirdgens made in '89 and later have full California emissions equipment on them, and you will not have a problem as long as all the original emissions equipment is still there and working. If you have removed anything such as the AIR pipes, the EGR, or the catalytic converter, you will not pass the emissions test and will have to add those items before you will pass.
