engine wash from hell....help!!!!!!
so i got a 86 iroc with a 305tpi, i got bored today and decided to wash my engine bay today with simple green and water. big mistake. i had the engine running and it was doing ok then it started to miss and check engine light came on,so i stopped and restarted the engine still missing bad, and missed as i reved it up several times, so i checked the plug wires and all good, i took the distributor cap off and found moisture so i cleaned it out also removed and reinstalled coil, i put it back together and when i started the engine it missed and moke came out from some where in the engine bay, but after i gave it two good revs to 4000rpm it cleared out and ran fine. so i drove it and not even two blocks engine starts to run like crud wont let me give it wot wont idle and started to spudder and turned off, turned engine back on and reved fine drove one block then i tried to floor it and it did it again so i turned around and tried to go back, one block later it did it again, turned it back on and idled it back home so it wouldnt do it again. check for codes and got 22 for tps,33 for maf, and 43 for esc?...lost day light at this time with no flash lights....ok so i think the 43 code set when it was missing..i hope... and i think water got into the tps and maf...i hope any water dries up in tomorrows heat, before i check after work...what does anybody think?? how bad did i **** things up???

I would let everything dry out for as long as you can and then check connections for water. Once things dry out everything should be fine.

I would reset the codes and then run it again to see which codes come up and troubleshoot the code.

well to begin with you should never ever have any moisture on sensors such as tps iac etc, so more likely your tps and iac is busted test them and see if u get the readings u should, those two sensors alone will make ur car run terrible.

Re: engine wash from hell....help!!!!!!
ok so i let it dry for two days and drove it again, it drives awesome now, only the check engine light stays on,so i reset the pcm on it by disconnecting battery cables and touching them together for 30 sec. rechecked codes and only found 12, so i started the engine and no light until i tipped in the throttle and the light came on, so i checked the codes and found code 22 for tps, so i did a tps sweep and found 5.05v input at gray wire .08v at blue wire and .02v at blck ground wire with koeo and throttle closed, so as i open the throttle with the blue wire back probed i get no more than .09v wot, with koer i get only.10v at the blue output wire and does not increase as i open the throttle. so i held the throttle plate open abit and moved the swipper arm on the tps with my finger to part and to were open throttle is to see if the pcm would try to add fuel and get a change in rpm either up or down, well i got no change in rpm at all, i figured it would change the rpm. so i hope napa is open tomorrow to throw a tps in there, what do u guys think?

Re: engine wash from hell....help!!!!!!
well im not sure if your supposed to, but its just my way of thinking with some electrical knowledge...figured it would work and it did.....
so i tried that way and still got same results, so i took the tps off and checked its resistance, it had 276ohms and only dropped to 268ohms at wot,so i replaced it and set the voltage.....i could only get it .43v closed throttle, my parking brake doesnt work, wont hold in drive so ill have to set the idle later and readjust the tps after i fix my parking brake, but anywho engine started and ran awesome and check engine light went away......
