Not sure that my car is suppose to do this..
My 88 GTA with LB9 in it with 118k and bad valve seals gets a really good 2 gear burn. Not just a churp but enough to leave marks and kick out.. Oh and its auto. All I can see that it has is straight 2 1/4 exhaust, cone filter, and MSD distributor cap. Now thats just looking at it, I havent had the car long so I havent really dug into it. I have known a few people that had he similar car and the only ones that could do this were the 5 speeds, and even them just churped alittle. Any hints on what I should look at or is his normal for the 305 TPI?

shift kit in the tranny, maybe. Even then thats not enough for it to break free like that
mine would do that (but only on good days),but it had an l98 with headers and 3" exhaust and 3:42 gears and a shift kit
I miss that car.

ya maybe it shift awsome. I got the car and the trans mount was broken but even then it would kick out. I put a Energy trans mount on and now it does it everytime.

do you know the code for the ratios? My tires are pretty good, 245/55/16s and they are Goodyears but not sure what kind.

Back in '86 i had a 305TPI with a shift kit, that would smoke the tires in 1st and 2cnd, I'm not sure the gear ratio i had. I also had Goodyear Eagles, I think the rubber compound was a little harder than other tires which helped on the burn. Back then they were $265 a tire, which was a lot, so there wasn't much burning going on.

I couldnt find the codes list, but there was 2 tags on the differ cover. One said Spin Resistant Diff USA Approved and the other had a the gear size....3.27. It looks like I need to change the fluid on it, doesnt look like it was even touched.
Does it make a difference that it is a WS-6, or is that just suspension in these years.
