Fuel pressure dropping

When I turn the key on but do not crank the motor the fuel pressure gos up to 45 lbs the when the pump stops in about 3 seconds it drops back down to nothing is this normal.
I smell gas on startup and was wandering if I had a leaky injector.
thanks Dave

Re: Fuel pressure dropping

The pressure should not drop like that. You probably have a bad check valve in the fuel pump.

Re: Fuel pressure dropping

I think i figured it out. When I clamp of the return line the pressure remians high. So I ordered a new pressure regulator today.
Hopefully this will also address a problem I have been having with inconsistent BLMs.

Re: Fuel pressure dropping

Could be an injector too. If the regulator doesn't do it, send us the injectors, we'll check them. If you're sure it is the injectors, let me know how I can help you out.
