305 to 350 , what shortblock to get ??

instead of building the 305 im thinking of just putting a 350 in.. what 350 shortblock should i look for ? 87-96 ? i just want the short block because i would like to put on aftermarket heads and aftermarket tpi intake parts.. so basically i would just like to change cams and add heads and tpi intake ...thanks for any advice .

87+ if you want to run a factory roller cam setup. Otherwise a block with whichever RMS type you already have will make it closest to a direct swap. Condition of the block is probably more important than anything else.

so from 87 to 97 the block , crank, rods and pistons were all the same ?? none of the years had better pieces , strength wise ?

Cranks and rods are about the same regardless of application. Pistons varied in design, but not in strength.
