TPI upgrades, thoughts
Im working on my tpi over the winter, like most people on third gen are.
I got another tpi setup, which I am porting to the max, getting edelbrock runners, gasket match-porting the heads, Ive got mid tubes, planning on some dual 2.5". BS stuff like tb spacer, air foil, "custom" 3.5" INTAKE. My car was a v6, and when it was, I had put 4.0 gears in it. Last year, i did the 5.7 TPi swap boogie, and yes, I know of TPI's lack of upper rpms. I was thinking of back to 3.42's, but the 4.10s would be good for my mods, and yes the speedo is correct, i modified a driven gear from a th350 to work.
What do you guys think, keep 4.10's? Also, is this setup close to 300 horse? I know cam and heads are next, but before that is this reasonable?

Id just leave the gears that are in it and see how you like it before you spend more money. Are taller gears "optimal" maybe....you might just find its so much fun to drive you may not wanna change...maybe you will.

3.42 is better for everyday driving and better gas mileage. The engine won't be screaming on the FWY

that I know, but the 4.10s, TPI and t-5 rev @ 1900rpms @ 60mph, so not that bad.
