checking fuel injectors

i bought a 89 iroc about a month ago and it came with a set of 30lb injectors installed on it. My friend has a set of stock 22s i want to put in but they have been sitting for a while. what is the best way to check these without taking them to the local napa and spending 10 dollars a piece to check them.

Re: checking fuel injectors

Well tell us what you want checked, spray pattern? Ohms? You can check the later yourself with an ohm meter, they should read, if good, in the 16-12 range and all should be close to one another within about 1-2 points

Re: checking fuel injectors

Injectors that have been sitting go stale. I wouldn't put them in without flowing them.

It's a lot of work to do something that has a high degree of possible failure.

If you want to send them in, we'll check them.

Even if they ohm out, the pintles stick. Ohms won't tell the story, especially if only checked cold.

Re: checking fuel injectors

We have always been partial to the bosch products because they seem to be
the most reliable product out there though Lucas and other companies put out
good products also.

Re: checking fuel injectors

You would have to remove the chip and get a custom tune because it will not accomodate the amount of fuel for the 30lb injectors....they will be too big.
