OBD-I or OBD-II
Im a bit confused here. I got a stock 86 IROC-Z. My buddy got a Snap On scanner but he says my 86 IROC is a OBD-I and that his scanner is OBD-II only. So can anyone help me out here? Which one do I got?

Re: OBD-I or OBD-II
you have obd I ,gm was obd I 1995 and earlier, with some oddballs mutant mixes like some 95 blazers were( they have a obdII connector but are more like obd I) all 96 and newer cars and pickups are OBDII

So then a 1989 Trans Am is a OBD1. Sweet. Thanks bro. I think my friend got the wrong scanner, unless it has both connection types.
