hey guys kind of just a thought but since you guys are the proud owners of TPI i figured i'd ask... and i havnt seen any threads about it but what would it take to convert from TBI to TPI? and if you're going to be the guy "oh just buy a f body with that set up to begin with" i dont want to see your posts on here. don't mean to be rude but im looking for informative answers here. thanks guys.

 

prolly cuz if your gonna spend the time swaping why not do an lsx or ltx swap, its just as much work and much better performance then the TPI and it prolly will cost right about the same

LSx or LTx swap would cost much more than just a TBI to TPI swap.

 

Street and Performance sells a harness to do it for about $600 that is plug and play.

Show me where you can find a tpi block with less the 50k miles on otherwise id rebuild it before I put it in my car. For the price of rebuild I could have the 5.3 ls outa the trucks. Intake to oil pan with injectors plugs wires coil pack water pump throtale body. I can get a harness and acceories outa a junk yard and then swap the fuel pump. Ok maybe a little more then a tpi swap but now my cars much more up to date. Imo doing a tbi to tpi swap is money poorly spent

 

As I understood the OP wants to change just the intake system. That does not really mean a full rebuild.

Ok so you swap the intake. You've still got the crap tbi heads and cam. Swap them without doing a rebuild is asking for ring failure if your motors got anything over prolly 100k on it. Y rebuild the 305 tbi to tpi specs when u could get a 350 tpi to rebuild then at that point it'd be what I say.

 

I really don't want to persuade you about doing a TBI to TPI swap or doing an LSx swap is better. If you have the money, time and knowledge, do your LSx swap. The OP asked about TBI to TPI swap so we should try and focus on this topic.
