Aftermarket headers?

Im looking for a pair of aftermarket headers for my 91 Ta 305 bone stock and I figure I want to buy the y pipe with the headers to minimize risk and save time so anybody have any suggestions? I was looking at the Hooker 2055HKR but everywhere I went it seems to be $450 or more and Im looking to spend probably $350?

Yup keep your eyes open. The 2055s are among the better headers for our cars. Also..AS@M runners for 200 :-O. That was a STEAL. I got lucky and they were already on my car when i bought it.

For that budget the only quality headers you're going to find will be used.
Here's one:

If you buy a cheap set that's not stainless then they will either warp or rot away in no time. That is false economy.
Headers are ok used if they are stainless and undamaged.

Re: Aftermarket headers?

Yes SLP headers are a bit better than the average because they are Stainless..however that link you gave him is for the drivers side header only and they cant get the passenger side. He should be looking for an entire package.

Re: Aftermarket headers?

A brand new set of Hedman long tube or shorty headers with a separate new Hedman y-pipe will cost you abit less than $350 but more than $300.

Re: Aftermarket headers?

Just make sure you get a matching ypipe for what ever headers you choose. It will make life a LOT easier! Probably going to have to go used if you don't want to spend a lot. Check out craigslist.Put this into Google, Example: 82-92 headers/craigslist

Re: Aftermarket headers?

I got my Hedman headers and y-pipe in last night and the part numbers are 68470 for the headers (both items are on Summit) and 17478 for the y-pipe. They look very nice and I can't wait to get them installed on my ride. Total paid was about $310 including Summit's handling fee.

Do you want to keep the air injection?
