Just curious which fuel injectors are preferred. i already have the bbk fuel pressure regulator an i upped my current stock injectors to 55 psi (stock was 35psi) i want bigger an newer injectors but which ones? accel? bosch? i tried lookin for other post on this subject but nothin i found was any help to me. how about 30lbs injectors? with 80% duty cycle or so? (my engine is a 355 with 10.5:1 compression tpi) any thought or ideas?

Re: another fuel injector question

I'm not sure you need bigger injectors unless you've got heads, cam, and larger intake parts. If I were you I'd run a set of Bosch IIIs, proably 30lb/hr would be more than enough. You realize you'll have to have a custom tune if you change injector flowrate from stock.

At any rate, I'd call Jon Banner at Fuel Injector Connection. or hit up www.fuelinjectorconnection.com. Jon is a FANTASTIC guy, I just bought a set of Bosch IIIs from him and would again in a heartbeat. He truly puts customers #1. Do a search on this site and you'll be overwhelmed with good feedback about Jon.

Re: another fuel injector question

I completely agree that you should replace the old injectors but why do you think you need bigger than stock? There is NO reason to go bigger unless you need the fuel, and I highly doubt you need the extra fuel with that combo. Do yourself a favor and just get 22lb injectors and be done.

Re: another fuel injector question

Re: another fuel injector question

you are getting more air, but not that much. You're still well withing the range of the stock injectors. You're still running it on the stock tune even with engine mods, so if you want to improve something get the car tuned properly for your combo. Being at high elevation means less air so LESS fuel would be required....

out of curiosity, why are you skeptical with bosch?? It's one of the most efficient and reliable brands out there.

Re: another fuel injector question

If you want to do something cheap find a set of ls1 injectors. you can find them for $50 all the time. They are 28lbs at 60psi. I made 375rwhp on a 355 with them.

why would he pay $50 for injectors that are used and who knows if they work properly. Also they wont fit without adapters that he'll have to buy and they are the wrong rating so he'll have to have a custom chip burned.

This is so simple guys. call up fuelinjectorconnection.com, or call up the guys at southbay and get a set of 22lb BoschIIIs and be done. For a measly $150 you get completely refurbished and flow tested injectors, adapters and all. Just bolt them in and you're done, no chip burning or any other messign around.

I JUST did this on my 91 TA and it was the best and easiest thing I could have done for the car. You don't even have to pull the runners, just pull the plenum. I took pix of how I did it and can post a writeup if needed.
