Another Won't Start thread.. volt question... 1991 GTA
Hey guys, I've done hours of looking with no luck.. here is the story.
I just got a nice clean 1991 GTA with a 350 TPI with the 700r4.
The guy I bought it from did a intake gasket, as it was leaking alittle.
He was finishing it up, and it had a hard time starting. It was low on gas so he drove it to the gas station to fill her up, and while he was inside paying.. bam.. It died and would not restart.
sooo... 3 months later I buy the car.
I have replaced the ignition control module,
new cap and wires
new few fump relay.
My problem.
No fuel.
It will "pop" over with a little starting fluid.
Spark is great and bright.
I tested the volts at the relay, now after doing some reading, I'm pretty sure I'm playing with the right relay. Its the 3rd one from the end on the drivers side firewall. I have 12 volts there with the grey wire.
Now I test at the tank.
There is a Grey wire then a purple wire, then a black wire
Volts are grey 0
Purple 7.6
and black 26 volts.
I'm lost, I have oil pressure. I check the valve on the intake the schreader sp? valve, the fuel with leak out, no sparying! just leaking out.
I do not hear the pump try to prime.
Tell me your thoughts please!

Can you hear the fuel pump initialize when you turn the key on? What about the gas cap? does it seal well?

No, I can't hear a thing when I turn the key.
Fuel cap seems fine. Looks new to me
Thanks for helping.. I'm lost here!
I do hear some things clicking under the hood when I turn the key, not sure what it is. Nothing from the tank

Hmm, have you check all the fuses? Start with easy stuff first :P
Reread what you wrote, kind of sounds like a fuel pump. I am not sure what would happen if you ran it out of gas if it would cause a fuel pump to seize..
