Alright folks so I just bought a 89 Iroc with the 350 tpi. Most of my previous camaros has LS1 for a heart, one being a 98 and the other being a 79. And before that I played with imports, so what I am getting at is I know the SBC are very popular motors but I just have never played with them. SO a few questions, I want to get 400hp out of the tpi can this be acheived with a set of Vortec heads/aftermarket intake and possibly a larger cam? Also is there any difference between the earlier SBC motors vs the SBC that the TPI intakes sat on? So if I were to go find an earlier SBC to rebuild for the car is there any differences I need to be wary of aside from make sure its a 4 bolt main? I will also be doing a T56 swap into it with some time. I am planning on taking it road racing on occasion but also just have as a fun street car. what can you guys offer for info?
