Error Codes 36 & 44

Hi everyone! I just purchased this -88 Trans Am GTA from Calirfornia. Actually one week ago. It got almost three months to get in Finland.
It's my first F-body!! And I love it! Black and 350TPi engine.

But yeah here's the question. SES-light is on and I checked error codes and if I got them correctly it was 36 and 44. Both codes comes three times right??
So what I do??

When I put in on "P" the idle running is sometimes almost 2000rpm. Is it something to do with these error codes?
The throttle cable stays little "open" put just a small touch and it goes back and idle running is ok then...

Sorry my english, I'm trying

Read this to understand problem
http://chevythunder.com/fuel%20injec...0pg%20a.htm#36

At the age of your car, a new O2 sensor and MAF burn off relay are probably long overdue but check for wiring faults 1st
Rockauto ( rockauto.com) are cheapest for service parts and will post overseas cheaply using USPS if you ask

Throttle cable may be sticking (disconnect cable from TB and check for free movement )
but most likely the throttle body is worn and the butterflies are sticking partly open when you let off the pedal which is why when you tap the pedal they close properly and the revs drop.

Only real fix is a rebuilt one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TPI-5...Q5fAccessories

( is cheaper to pay the extra core cost than have to post old one back to USA )

or a better cond used TB from 3rd Gen for sale dept

'Throttle cable may be sticking (disconnect cable from TB and check for free movement )
but most likely the throttle body is worn and the butterflies are sticking partly open when you let off the pedal which is why when you tap the pedal they close properly and the revs drop.' very true. mine does as well dude to age, i dont really worry about it to much other then wasting gas. tap it a few times, goes back to normal idle.

Re: Error Codes 36 & 44

Thank you very much guys!!! Great links also!! I'll try to fix that with those advices!!

Yeah, I also though that the main problem is that it takes more gasoline than normal BUT in Finland gasoline costs about $9 per gallon... (1,65€/litre) so..... So when I fill up my tank it costs about $124 or more..

I dont actually know about US but I think it cheaper there

And I meant that it goes back to normal if I touch that butterfly(?)-thing.. That thing that is under-the-hood-end-of-throttle-cable. I dont know all the english words

Will get more attention if you start a new thread titled "can't read codes " or similar instead of re-opening an old one

You are jumpering the correct wires?
