Re: AC Delete?
if you really want to make it look good (as in no unused junk like an evaporator) buy a non AC heater box with the motor (motor is different) and bolt it in place. Only a couple bolts, however the lower most one is not used in a non AC so you have to plug it.
Then use the original wiring so you have the high speed blower relay, something non ac doesn't have. Makes the fan much more efficient. Easiest way to do it is take the bracket off the old heater box, put a 90deg brake in it and mount it to the new heater box w/ 2 screws or rivets. Then your original wiring all is plug & play. No AC junk and a high speed blower that actually works.

Re: AC Delete?
im using a heater delete box from hawks thirdgen.... engine bay looks MUCH nicer and cleaner with this than all the ac stuff..... all you need is a ac delete pulley... i even mounted my coil on the delete box so i can easily turn the dizzy if needed....

Re: AC Delete?
Id like to bump this up...i have an 89 rs with the factory ac. doesnt work though, and the lines are actually missing as the PO put a 383 in it and never bothered to put it back in.
i also have an 84 z28 without ac. can i use the non ac box from the 84 in the 89 to do the delete?

Re: AC Delete?
Reviving an old thread here.. I'm new to TGO as a member, but I've been following for years.
Anyway, I have an 85 Camaro with the 2.8 which will be changing to a 5.3 LM7 soon.
I have no use for my AC and I'm also wondering what I need to do to delete it? I've heard everyone from getting a 1LE box, changing the control head in the center console, dealing with loads of wiring, and differences in years as far as vacuum/cable controlled stuff.
Is there anyone that has any specifics as to what I would need? Preferably to delete the AC as simply as possible?

Re: AC Delete?
No need to change controls. Just use stock wiring w the hi speed blower relay. Your fan will blow at max unlike stock non ac. Swap out the resistor bridge if its still in the factory ac delete housing.

Re: AC Delete?
SO I pulled my AC stuff out too. Picked up the Non AC heaterbox. The blower motor resistor terminals are drastically different than my factory plug. From what I'm reading in these last few posts I can get a Factory (A/C) blower motor resistor plug it into the non A/C box, plug my factory wiring harness into it and it'll work?

Re: AC Delete?
when i did the ac delete, i had to change some of the plugs, but the wiring color codes are the same.
