How do I tell if I have a late model T/B for my TPI

I have two different types of T/B's that I've accumulated for my TPI install. Don't know which one is the later (better) version. How do I determine what the latest version Throttle body looks like?

Thanks

Also, I found a used high flow Edelbrock base manifold for a maf car on craigslist. Wondered how much it would be worth. Thinking of making the guy an offer on it.

Re: How do I tell if I have a late model T/B for my TPI

Found this on an old thread
"The 85-88 throttle bodies had a IAC control passage, which also can be seen on a 85-88 plenum. While the 89-92 plenums are missing this IAC passage. An early throttle body cannot be used on a later plenum, but a later throttle body can be used on a early plenum."

Hope that helps. As for the high flow manifold I got mine for $180 and thinks that's a good price. They sell new for around $400. I see if he'd take lower than that though. I wouldn't pay more than $220 they can be found in the classifieds here for less than that. Also the base will work on any TPI whether its MAP or MAF. The different part numbers is explained here

Hope that helps,
Mike

Do you know if the later style throttle cable connection thing on the left side of the T/B can be swapped onto an earlier style T/B?? I found a new looking BBK-1536 for $125. I wondered if I could swap out that part?

thanks

IIRC the cable can't be swapped from an earlier throttle body to a later throttle body or vice versa

not 100% sure though

Not without cut and welding. Most just swap the accel cable to suit what TB they are using
Professional Products are the only aftermarket TB that have a removable throttle linkage. They are supplied with both linkages and you fit which one you need.

As you can see from the BBK listings, they have a seperate part # for each of the 3 different style TB's used by the factory; linkages are fixed in place
