Comp cam and TPI tune
Comp cam and TPI tune
Howdy everyone. For those of you who don't know, I'm looking into swapping a TPI fuel setup into my 1977 Chevy pickup. While I have the intake off to swap everything over, I'm hoping to be swapping in a new cam since I'll be halfway there anyhow. Wanted to get y'alls opinion on my setup, and hopefully be able to tell me if I will be able to probably break in a cam with a stock tune, before getting into actually tuning the engine. I don't want to end up screwing something up.
Details on the truck...
1977 SBC 350. Stock bore, stock stroke, stock style pistons.
Edelbrock aluminum heads, 185cc intake runners, 64cc combustion chamber, 2.02/1.60 valves with 1.5 ratio rockers. Longtube headers, stock 1980s mass air tbi intake and fuel stuff with 22# injectors.
Cam is part number 12-256-4 from comp cams.
Any thoughts, or better cam suggestions? That cam is the one suggested by Comp Cams for towing applications with those mods. But when I look up the cam on their site, it says "HYDRAULIC: Best in 305 or 350 Tuned Port Injected engines with no modifications." So that leads me to believe that it may not work so great with the mods I have, or they're may be a better cam.
Hopefully you guys can help me out! Thanks.
