IAC valve not avilable
I'm having some trouble with my idle in a 89 iroc 5.7,so I called Autozone for some prices and they said theIAC was not avilable. Is this going to be a wide spread problem? Our cars must need it or they wouldnt have put them in,RIGHT?

If at all possible, I would avoid no-name parts store replacement items like the IAC, TPS, etc. Cardone, Duralast, all crap and all good to go just until the warranty expires. Have them order the AC Delco brand or shop online.
I use these stores exclusively:
TPIparts.net
OEHQ.com
ACDelco.com
GMpartsdirect.com

Have them from no name $28 to $88 for ACDelco one

Re: IAC valve not avilable
Order on line or find another parts store! I buy a lot of stuff from rockauto.com and get AC/DELCO parts from them at good prices.
IAC is readily available. There is a test for the IAC, have you done that test procedure?
There is NO WAY they are "losing money" on warranty! I worked parts for 20 years! That does not happen, unless the store people do not turn the "bad" parts in to the supplier. Their "Warranty" covers the part, they do not pay labor. So if you bring back a "Bad" part and it is "in the warranty period", their supplier makes it good, no questions asked! Computers handle the rest. Warranty is "NO LOSE" Situation for parts stores. Sound like you need to find another parts store! Any parts store that is not trying to get your business (money) and parts somehow, is begging to go out of business!
