I have a 89 Iroc with 5.7L TPI with MAF. Everything is stock besides the heads, headers and the cam and all emissions have been elimited. I have a pair of 190 AFR aluminum heads and a comp cam part# 08-502-8. The specs for the cam is Lobe Sep - 112, Duration a .050 In.218 Ext.224 Lift -In.495 Ext.503 Overlap 48. My car was running perfectly at 128 on my intergrator with the facotry motor. After putting my mods on it is running very rich when warmmed up at idle it is running about 90-95 on my intergrator and crusing its 80. So i sent my prom off to have a custom program and they have programmed it about as far as they can, they say, and its still running very rich not as much but still to much. I want to believe its due to the overlap of the cam but i just cant see how. But i do know that the stock cams overlap is close to 0. Comp cams said all it needed was a custom program and a upgraded exhaust but i am kinda not sure of that now. I am at a loss now i have done everything i know of any help will be appricated.

Heated 02 sensor do a search lots of threads on this or wrap them headers if you have not already. Headers move o2 sensor down stream, ecm thinks it is running colder than it is. Will get into closed loop much quicker too. Will drastically improve mileage too.

i just ran into this too. only, i deleted egr, all emissions. a/c, and heat, smog/a.i.r. i added headers and full exhaust and intake and edelbrock intake and runners. pos ran so rich my eyes would sting. i ordered a prom for no a.i.r. and custom tuning. and i started it runs great. smooth idle and no problems.... and she's a beast to drive.

who did your prom? you want that car running lean, especially at part throttle. You want super lean so you can zip around and get good mileage,then you want it to richen up under WOT to like 12.5 AFR.

where is your fuel pressure set at ? Set it to 43.5 and do a datalog with TTs Datamaster and send it in when you get your chip re-burned. What is your AFR like under WOT now? you said it was rich? what, like 11.2 or numerically lower?
