Re: time for the build any one wanna follow?

thanks man for the info i got this in a pm u sent me but how do u find the par numbers so quickly? do you keep a book handy?

Yes to explain my dilema.

its a bug in the electrical sensor.

ecm connects to the inline fuse, fuel relay, oil/fuel switch and to pump.

so heres the deal the connector in the back(infront of the tank) is gettin no power to it.

heres wat i check inline fuse - good
power to relay -good
power to pump from ecm? none

primed it and pump turned on.

so what is the one thing that i didnt check?? You geussed it the oil/fuel switch

been to busy at work will check it another day.

here is the strange part one night ecm was sendin power to pump then the next morning it wasnt???? this puzzles me . . .

the sensor is at autozone 38 bucks was thinking from tbi to tpi was a different sensor but found out no its not a different sensor

Re: time for the build any one wanna follow?

yes she is running!
sry for delays!

All i have to do is set timing tighten up lash and figure out why the speedometers not work
(i believe vss sensors bad)

what did yall find was the best timing set?

imm going to set it stock (what the book calls for)
also going to have to get a new turn signal relay i turn the turn signal on she doesnt blink just lights up.
and with lights on the left arrow on the dash stay on? ill figure it out

Right now my car idles around six hundred rpms when warm on how i got the timing set by ear and the rpm gAge. Too low (i believe so) tommorow will be the time for a timing light

my sis made a video of when it was first crankewd with just headers and a high *** timing lol post soon.

Re: time for the build any one wanna follow?

dabird07 , As far as the vss and buffer goes you first need to identify what vss you are using since you swapped from the t5 to a 700r4. If the wiring harness pocket sent you plugged in to the vss than it is a 4k ppm vss. When I sold you the ecm and gave you a modified v6 memcal and reprogramed the eprom I had also setup the eprom for a automatic trans so if you ever swapped transmission you would have tcc function. I had set it up for a optical vss signal assuming you were keeping the t5 and and speed buffer pin F and told you to run the ecm pin C6. If you are using the 4kvss in the transmission now Than I would have those go directly to the ecm pins B9 and B10 and use pin B11 to goto you Ip a light green wire coming out of the speed buffer pin c. If you wire it this way I will need to reprogram the eprom or you will need to buy a moates g1 and I can reprogram a eprom for you to work with magnetic vss for tcc lockup / fan speed turn off iac control.

Re: time for the build any one wanna follow?

been a while so here the updates!!
problems
problem and
more
problems.
o rings ripped for feul pressure regulator so i found a pack from autozone three bucks beets summits $20 version

autozone 800-9211 for the o rings (this should save headaches)

Alternator goes bad
ecm starts throwing codes.
fixed it ereased them then more codes

codes that did not make since 99???

so with that being said ecm was fried due to alternator going bad.

got a new ecm from tunedperformance (THANKS!)

then driving to my ladys house and car ran great picked her up she cut out!!!!

weird would start then die then start again. thankfully we made it across a higfhway to a gas station .. .

callerd my buddys rollback and took it home.

the next day crunk just fine! changed the filter drove it did fine gave it some wot drovew some more then right befor a storm hit she breaks down.

aft5er six tries of starting then driving, then shuting off followed by lots of patience to make it home i was well home. ??

So been talking searching and all, Heres things i did not know about walbros or the stock wire is to small and will have to get a thicker gauge wire to get voltage. .. .
and didnt know ignition coils could over heat and shut ure car off!

(learn the hard way,i know i said that before. . . .)

so goit me a fuel pressure gauge and going to buy a ignition coil and throw a hotwire for the feul pump to the alternator i hope this works lol

or maybe the car just wants a lsX in it. . . .

i will keep everyone posted

now since i found a hobby i cant afford !

Re: time for the build any one wanna follow?

Well updates yeah theres some good and some bad!

installed the hotwire kit that my buddy help me make (gave me the instructions)

involves a 8 gauge wire a relay for the feul pump

splice the 8 g wire to the relay relay to pump and ground, cant rember the connections an all .

Installed a new coil and she ran fine!

then later on a 3.42 posi rear end with disk brakes love it waiting to get my irocs some new rubber!!

Gotta figure out wat speed sensor for my speedo to read right.

looking into that now!

drove the car home from seeing my lady at college, a good 20 minute drive, got home threw on the work codes and then started the car, took a lil bit to get feul to the motor. she started and sounded terrible like before the hot wire kit was installed. then the loud whining and the car cut off.

so my conclusion is a terrible bad chinese knock off walbro that needs to get out of my tank. .. .

to be continued. . . . .

unfortunately dammit

Re: time for the build any one wanna follow?

If it isnt one thing its another.. . .

TERRIBLE news

or

good news?

Good
  1. New fuel pump
  2. 3.42 posi
  3. disk brakes
  4. fixed radio
bought hood extra light and ground effect!

Bad

Simpl put i wrecked the car... dumb actions that lead to one great conclusion.

Time for the next car!!

And ofcourse its going to be a thirdgen!

Gotta stick with pontiacs !
(even though my friend showed me his new s2000 and i was leanin to go imports 91-95 mr2 that is)

Since this was my first car and all.......

That being said will more than likely be selling the car !

all the stufff i want is gonna be kept like for example

rear end , tpi setup , heads and intake.

Rest is parting out will post a add in the classifieds soon. . .

till then im hopefully gonna be test driving a new car!!
