Fab. for intake on holley stealth ram system

OK guys two different ideas here, 1st idea, buy ram air hood from hawks, fab. up my own intake box that actually seals to the hood correctly, but there is a twist i wanna design 2 small areas on each side of the filter box for dry ice or regular ice to be placed. The question is will i have enough room for this, does anyone know the measurements for the ram air filter box that is sold on hawks, if so i could us them for a template, and or has someone already done this whole setup please post measurements/pics if u have them! 2nd idea, fab. up my own dual snorkel 4in. alum. tubing that runs to either side of the engine bay, where the battery was and the charcoal canister was, i would have to cut out the areas for the filters to be closer to the ground, also if i could do the same concept make boxes in the areas around the tubing to put the ice. Some of the costs i came up with for materials, Dual snorkel idea around $500 shipped with tax, ram air hood with fab. box, around $700 shipped with tax. Sorry this is so long but if i could get your guys input or help on these ideas that would be great!

Thanks,Gary

If the idea is to cool the incoming air and fuel then the most efficient way will be a radiator type system. This could be mounted almost anywhere since you can get them in a million different sizes and shapes. An old street car trick to cool the fuel is to coil some metal fuel line in a cannister like a coffee can and fill it full of ice and also put clothes pins on your fuel line if it is vapor locking. Is this what you are after?

How long do you think the ice would last?
Would be better (cheaper ) off with this DEI setup.
Wire it to work WOT

If the same effort with a bottle of co2 is used and money spent yields 15 horsepower and the bottle is filled with NOS and you get 150 horsepower then it is obvious. You could use an air conditioning approach with a compressor and evaporator coil and never need a bottle just an electric compressor and route the coil where you want it and flip a switch and your done. You could get a small window unit and steal the parts off of it and install it on your car and use the bottle set-up for nitrous and have both things working for you. You are wanting to supply cold to a specific area so don't limit yourself to whats in a catalog. It is usually overpriced anyway. Go to a A/C shop and buy an old used small window unit and the guy will probably help set it up just because it is cool and never been done before. You will have to mount the compressor and get an DC to AC converter but it is just a small gadget that doesn't cost that much. Then mount your coils and run your lines and fill it with freon and turn it on whenever you want without having to refill bottles. The evaporators have fans and you could seal it in the air duct with an oversized fan and even get a turbo affect. I will stop here since I am mentally rambling but you get the idea of what is possible.

Problem I have with external cooling of a air duct is you get a boundary layer where only the air in direct contact with the cooled tube is actually being cooled.
The bulk of the air flow will still be at ambient temp
